
Rice pudding, is a traditional recipe from my Granny Joe. For her, rice is good when you have a tommyache and when u are not able to diggest normal food.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of rice
- 1 lt of water
- 1/2 lt of milk
- 1 cup of sugar
- Skin of 1/2 lemon
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- 2 cloves
- pinch of nutmeg
- vanilla
Boil water and then add the rice, when its ready(aprox 10 mins later), leave it for a few minutes resting on a pan with cold water.
Now, lets put the milk in a pan on normal fire, let it warm a bit and add the sugar, stir until it dissolves, then low the heat and add the spices, the lemon the vanilla and the rice. Stir constantly till it becomes more creamy and less liquid.
Serve it and add some ground cinnamon to decorate. Some people add raisins, but for me this is sweet enough, actually I use less than 1 cup of sugar.
You can eat this hot or cold :)
